'checking file system on c;' Internet explorer 9 problem to

My laptop comes up with this message everytime it is turned off, but if i leave it to 'check' then it goes in a continous loop, so I cancel it first time. Does anyone how I can stop this from happening and also if it is the cause of the problem with Internet explorer 9, which installs but then when restarted doesn't acknowledge it has been installed ?

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Launch Windows Explorer then right-click your C drive and click Properties.

Click the Tools tab and under Error Checking click the Check Now button.

Check Automatically Fix File System Errors then click Start.

It'll take some time depending how big your hard drive is, but all being well you won't be bothered at startup again.

I doubt very much whether IE9 has anything to do with the problem.

i have got to the stage where it says to fix the errors the tick the automatic box but wont that just get it into the loop again because it wants to do it when the computer is turned on next

Are you using any 3rd party backup software for your system? Some of them have an option to return to a system image every time the system restarts. That may be what you are experiencing...

Windows does not sound like it is running correctly, then. I suspect corrupted Windows data.

• Check Windows for corruption. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.
