Does anyone have a CHECKLIST of things I can do to improve video playback such as vids on YouTube, DailyMotion and other vid sites? I notice - not invariably but all too often - that when playing a video on YouTube that I suddenly get a momentary delay (halt) in the video playing with the small round "wheel" turning in the middle of the screen (buffering, I presume) before the video resumes playback . . . just enough to mess up the enjoyment of the video, of course.

I just wondered whether anyone had a list of things I could check in my PC that would enhance/promote uninterrupted playback of videos (I tried SpeedBit and, ironically, some of the YouTube videos still had the delay so I uninstalled it.)

The very first thing you need to consider is your bandwidth. If you are using dial up, or DSL, you may not be able to stream. Please visit speedtest.net and check your speed. Post back the results.

Hi, James -

Did the speed test at the site you suggested, and attached is a screenshot of the results.

That should be good.enough to stream. Does this same activity occur on all steaming media? Pandora, netflix, hulu, etc
Also, have you checked for a network adapter driver update?

I did check, and the network adapter driver is up-to-date. No, it doesn't happen on Netflix, Pandora or Hulu - only YouTube.
