checksur file containing errors

Hi there,

I'm new to Windows
7. I have spent the last couple of days trying to get 3 updates to install, they are KB2503665, KB2588516, and KB976932. I have tried windows update/troubleshoot repair for update. i've tried downloading said updates manually but all to no avail. i have seen you guys help other users on this forum so i was hoping someone might be able to explain the below checksur file. any help much obliged

Hi Dan, it appears to be an issue with KB2588516. What you can do is download the standalone installer for that update and try to install it manually. Since I am not sure you Windows version I am hesitant to link to one. A quick google of KB2588516 Windows Version download should take you to the correct .msu file you need. Once downloaded manually extract the contents.

You can find a tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/155584-windows-update-extract-update.html on how to extract and update an msu manually. Once you get that finished shut down, then re-run the Update Readiness Tool. Your Checksur.log should be empty. If so you can safely download the remaining updates through Windows Update.
