I have a chicony webcam build in my toshiba laptop. always worked. now the mike does not work. any ideas? tried everything I could think of

If this is a recent problem, use the System Restore and restore the PC back to a date when it did work.
System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools.
