chm to pdf converter compatible with windows 7

Hi guys, i am using windows 7 32 bit. All i want is to have a free chm to pdf converter which also supports batch compilation. I mean i have to convert a lot of chm books to pdf format for study purpose. So if anybody come across any such free software please let me know. Thank you all in advance...

I've had a look, and there doesn't appear to be any free converters available, nor are there any batch capable ones.

However, the following program does work in Windows 7 64-bit: PDF Creator - novaPDF - Create PDF files

I tried this version: novaPDF Lite Desktop

As far as I know, all versions are fully functional without any restrictions, but they include the following at the bottom of every page if you haven't purchased it.

Hi dwarf, i tried to use nova pdf lite for windows 7. But its only able to convert some pages not the whole book!!! and if i open the program and choose the .chm book from its menu then, its not able to recognize the format.

Thanks for the file. It would appear that you can only convert a chapter at a time, so you will have to convert and append each chapter in turn. This is not a limitation of NovaPDF as it does the same when converting to .xps format which is included in Windows 7, so it would appear to be a limitation of the .chm file. I will continue and see if I can find an alternative program for you.

You may want to give doPDF a try ( doPDF Free PDF Converter - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com ). They say it can convert any printable document. I never tried it on chm documents, but on many others and it worked perfectly. Installs as a printer and you use it as if you were printing - just change the default printer to do.PDF when the print control window comes up.

I tried it with the file you sent, and it converted it in a single pass, extracting each chapter. Like NovaPDF, the program places a watermark at the top of every page until you purchase it. Unfortunately, I couldn't attach and send you the resultant file as it was too big.

thanks dwarf. yes thats the problem am facing. its difficult to convert chapter by chapter. and whs - doPdf do the same thing as nova pdf lite. And for jim - Amber chm to pdf converter really works great but its trial version and limited to 30 days only . thats the problem.

Jim found the same solution as I did, but I decided to try it before posting. As I stated, it does work and it will process batches when purchased. I haven't been able to find a single solution that does this and is free (I checked Google, Bing, and Yahoo!), but I feel that US $19.95 is reasonable.

Thanx dwarf for the time u spent on this issue. I am really thank full to you. i am thinking of buying this software but still want to wait for another 15 days to see if anything happens on this front . Thank you once again....
