My system has the regular sound, but it also can seperatly route the sound over the HDMI.

I'm running the VM fullscreen on my HDMI screen, so I want the sound over there too, but I cannot figure out how.

Hi there
HDMI will route sound from the HOST to the monitor. Virtual machine will be using a "Virtual Sound card" depending on the Virtual BIOS == the original model VMware used for ages was based on the old Creative Labs "Sound blaster" series.

I don't think VM software is capable of delivering HDMI output direct to the monitor.

What you COULD attempt to do is to REMOTE desktop to the VM and set the "transfer sound" etc in the RDP options. This will then use the HOSTS sound output so you should get HDMI audio out.

Note though you will need W7 or XP Pro (or W8 pro) as your Virtual machine - you won't be able to RDP to a W7 etc Home premium edition.

Cheers
