Choosing Windows + number to choose the program
How comes it that you can only use the number above the keyboard in conjuction with the Windows key, not the number pad? It would be more ergonomic.
Also what do you call the row of programs at the bottom?
In Mac setting it is called Dock.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about programs on the taskbar, Win + Num will launch that program.

Yes and programs on the task bar use to be called Quick Launch . In Wndows 7 Microsoft disabled that feature and added the feature of Pin to Taskbar instead .

Yeah, I know about quick launch, but doing the same Win + Num will launch the programs pinned to the taskbar, the first 10 anyway.

Yes but the number has to be pressed above the letters not from the number key. Is there a way they can make the number key possible?

Unfortunately no. You could always use a third party launcher though. Like rocket dock for example.
