Hi all,

I have a laptop INSPIRON N4010 which has OS windows 7 home prem OA,
it is one year old and when i got the laptop it was working fine and it was pretty good in speed , after 2 months my harddisk crashed and dell replaced my harddisk.

After reinstallation of OS everything was fine but when I tried to play video it goes out of sync (audio and video) and sometimes it stops and plays ..meaning it doesnt play it properly also while typing sometimes it delays to write on screen ..even response sometimes is bit slower..

i tried below thing .
1)I formatted my machine but still has the same issue ..., not sure if this info is helpful on my laptop which shows label as "windows 7 home prem OA" and the dvd from where i installed my os is "windows 7 home premium 64 bit"

(i did installed drivers as well)

2)i read in the forum remove battery and check but the issue is still there

Regards
Lallit

Well let's have a quick look at something.
You reformatted.
What is the same between the first time around and after your formatted fresh?
Are you using the same antivirus?
Are you using the same office apps?
Are you using the same Firewall?

What is still the same?

Also do me a quick favor and trying playing a video with this.
VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!

The only reason I ask for that is if it works it will point to a codec issue, as vlc does not use the standard windows codecs but it's own internal ones.

Hello.

I actually ran into almost the same issue as you did. Slow typing in the browser and choppy video. What eventually fixed the issue which again might not be the same as yours was to reinstall the video drivers. Go to the Device Manager and then proceed to remove them and there should be an option to delete the files. Choose the delete option and once done run the installer for latest video drivers. One way to test this that it might be the video drivers is to boot into Safe mode and once there play a movie via streaming or DVD. If you try it Safe mode make sure you choose the Networking support option. If it works there then you might have to consider reinstalling the video drivers.

I would also agree with Maguscreed in that you should make sure that is there is little running in the background. When streaming a movie from Netflix you should not be using much more then 10-12% of CPU utilization. You might also want to check to see if the CPU and GPU temps are reasonable. Let us know.

Any input on those other questions?

I'm actually starting to wonder if it's possible your firewall or antivirus is set to aggressive and interfering with the stream.

You can also try installing a codec pack.
A lot of people use Klite but I've found it to cause problems in both vista and win 7.
So I've started using this.
CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

If you do have klite, uninstall it before using this one, as both together will likely just make things worse.
