I ONLY use Chrome for my browsing needs. I have Firefox and IE installed, but I use them VERY rarely. Having said that, let me tell you about a strange issue:

The first thing in the morning, I boot the machine. I start up the browser and I have NBCnews.com as my homepage. The page loads normally, but I can't seem to click into ANY of the stories until I reload the page. I can't click into the lead story, other stories on the page, or even the adverts!! Once I reload the page, everything acts normally. Between the wife and I, we log in and out of our profiles throughout the day without issue. She doesn't have the problem when using it on her side. I won't see the problem until the next morning because we don't reboot the machine all day.

This isn't the biggest issue in the world. It's just a minor pain in my keester.

My plan, today, is to try the following things. Please feel free to make some suggestions as to what else I might try, or suggest solutions.

  • First, we'll see if a full reboot recreates the issue.
  • I've already cleared the cache, history, etc... but, that's going to happen again.
  • I'm also going to run "netsh winsock reset" and "netsh int ip reset tcpip.log".
  • Before the reboot, I'm going to change the homepage to see if it's an NBC thing. (Wife: Why is GirlsGoneWild.com your homepage? Me: I'm troubleshooting! I swear!!)

Results to follow (of the troubleshooting, not the hell-raising wife issue. That's another forum.).

This is probably the longest I've ever had a Windows machine run without having to restore it to scratch. I'm used to restoring to "factory" about every 2 yrs. I've run with Win7 since new in 2009 and only recently (Nov, '14) restored to clean up the machine from all my 'xperimenting. LOL!! I may never need another machine.

Upgraded to 10 when it was still free, then installed 2017 update.
Chrome is updated?

EDIT : sorry, just noticed it is. Do you only get the issue on that webpage?

UPDATE:

A full reboot doesn't seem to recreate the issue. Before I did a reboot, I changed the home button page, instead of the page that loads when I start Chrome (my first DERR move of the morning), but when NBC came up, a link was clickable. Seems like a once-a-day thing.

I may have to wait until tomorrow morning to answer your question, +Golden. (BTW this version is a beta)
