I tried tagging my question onto the end of another thread about Chrome, but didn't get any response.
Chrome is very slow after both boot up and awakening from sleep mode. Gmail isn't any better. I have a 64 bit system. My version of Chrome is 71. I also see the icons turning white as if reloading. I clear the cache after every session. Is it Chrome or my Internet speed? I do one test and it comes back as 11.6 download and 5.4 upload while the Spectrum test says 73 upload and 5.9 download. That's a day and night difference and who do you believe?

If the chrome lag that means the chrome is slow, have you defrag you computer regularly?
What's your system specs?

My Windows 7 is the Home Premium - 64 bit. I defragged last night. It's a Dell Inspiron 660S with 500 gig hard drive and 2 gig of RAM. I am using an ad block program.

I use mainly Pale Moon on both Slackware and Win-7 and have never had this problem when accessing Gmail.Don't have Chrome and don't want it. Maybe it has something to do with that ad blocker? Maybe it's sending back so much data that it slows down?
