Chrome browser settings in Spanish! Want to change to English

Did a fresh install of Chrome hoping to clear some spellcheck errors.

When I restarted the new install, my toolbar and "wrench settings" are in Spanish. Browser is in English. Went to "Advanced Settings" and this is set to English. Searches are in English,

But the toolbar shows "Applicaciones" instead of "apps". Instead of "Bookmarks" I see "Otros Marcadores"

FWIW All the Gmail settings are in english.

See if these steps are what you followed (Browser interface language)

If you can't get to the right place because the menus are in Spanish, you can type (or copy and paste) this in the address bar

chrome://chrome/settings/languages

Drag English to the top and retart Chrome.

Spanish Chrome

I went around in circles for a while with this problem before solving it. I managed to get to the language options (says something like: Idiom) find the ingles language, select etc. There are 2 buttons in spanish. The step I think I was missing was to click the top button that mentions chrome. It is the thing that selects you want chrome to be in the selected language.

Hope this helps someone, like me, who doesn't understand a word of spanish!
