Has anyone figured out chrome cookie control?

Seems like I can't get the browser to act the same way twice.
I'm trying Vanilla Cookie Manager out of desperation.

Seems like the only way I can avoid tracking cookies and still be logged on to some sites when I navigate there is to set all to Allow Local Data. Then go around and log in to a bunch of sites I use most. Then set cookies to Session Only. Then set LastPass to AutoLogin for the sites where the cookie doesn't work.

I can't seem to get any consistent behavior. It's really frustrating they haven't done anything about this stuff in 20 years!

Seems like Vanilla Cookie Manager does nothing good for me. I used it yesterday and today I was manually cleaning out about 40 tracking cookies. Back to my old method of using the built in Chromium white list.

Thanks. The way I'm doing it now seems to work pretty well. Just a bit of a pita to allow local storage, click and log in to favorite sites, add them to white list, then change cookie setting to Session Only. For what doesn't work I set LastPass to AutoLogin. Just seems like after all this time there'd be a simpler system. But it works well enough. If it ain't broke I guess I should stop fixing it. :)

They have all those options like "block cookies by default" but the only practical choice is either Allow Local, or Session Only. Otherwise 98% of sites will be unusable.

Out of the box suggestion

Run CCleaner or something similar on a schedule you can run it without a UI if I recall correctly and it supports chrome so you can add your cookies as required to the retain list :)

Thanks for the suggestion. But I tried that approach. Also tried WinPatrol cookie filter. Trouble with CCleaner is the tracking cookies are active until you clean it. Trouble with WinPatrol is the tracking cookies change name often enough to outsmart the filter. The way I'm doing it now, even when Chromium is running I can check the cookies using Chrome Cookies View and I won't have any tracking cookies.
