Hi Folks,

Using Chrome 7.0.503.0....anyone noticed the address bar doesn't do the searches like it used to? I tried to set it from options>manage.... but it doesn't stay.

Any tips on redressing this?

muchos gracias

Are you using the nightly build or the Canary build? Try to re-install Chrome. If that doesn't help, I recommend you go with the stable version (6.0.472.53). Betas and nightlies are quite unstable though.

Just for the record, the OP is using a Google Chrome Developers Build (latest build for that channel currently). Also for a majority of the users Chrome Beta/Dev builds have been extremely stable.

Thanks for the response guys....yea DarknovaGamer is correct, I m using the Dev. channel. In options>default search> what I get is completely empty box..no options as we normally get to set a default. I click on the "manage" tab and add Google and it will search thru the omnibox, but re-starting the addition has dissapeared and back to square one basically!!.......

You are correct again the DEV channel has generally been "stable" as stable can get for something its intended in Developement. Quite impressed

Hello BarHairSpray, if possible could you post a screenshot showing the problem you are having as well as explain it a bit more detailed? :)

Hi DarkNovaGamer, thanks for the response. Apologies for not getting back to you earlier. Anyways glad to report that the weekly update has taken care of the issue.

Basically what I had in the prior version was at the "default" search was completely empty. So I went into Manage and added google for instance....and the address bar would act as a search but on restarting chrome, it again was empty and the search would not work on the address bar as it usually does. Hope that makes sense.
