Chrome works for a while, but then I notice that any tab I click on, new or old, will not load or refresh...including Chrome's own History, etc. I get a message saying I can Wait or Kill Pages. So far, re-booting the computer has fixed it. I have had absolutely NO trouble with any other programs on this computer - less than a year old. (Windows 7 HP 64 bit)

Not sure if this will help, I had the same issue yesterday.

Uninstall Chrome and download and install a fresh copy from here Google Chrome 19.0.1084.52

Also, do you have too many extensions on chrome?

Welcome to Seven Forums stoutm. Chrome has it's own "task manager". When this problem happens, take a look to see if a process is using a lot of resources.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried a lot of different things to solve it, but to no avail: reinstalling Chrome, pulling up Chrome's task manager ("view hidden pages") when it happens (no obvious culprit), playing around with Flash (about: plugins), etc.

I can go for several days sometimes where this problem doesn't occur, but it always comes back. It happens sometimes when I first open Chrome. It happens sometimes when I open the next of a number of open tabs. I haven't been able to determine a pattern. If anything, it seems to happen most often with Google's own sites, but it's not limited to them (maybe it's just I go to Google sites a lot). It also happened with the SRWare Iron browser, which is similar to Chrome.

I try other browsers, but I go back to Chrome. I like it and want to use it, but this "page has become unresponsive" routine is getting very old.

EXACTLY! I have not tried the SRWare Iron browser, but everything else is exactly my experience and my feeling about it! I really hope someone can help us figure this out.

What kind of computer are you using? This is an Asus laptop, about a year old, w/ 2nd gen I5 processor.

I'm on a Dell Latitude E6500 with an Intel Core Duo 2 (2.8ghz) processor. I've also tried removing/disabling the few extensions on it as well, but still end up with unresponsive pages.
