true, chrome works the fastes, but it is also the least functional in my opinion. firefox on the other hand already runs faster than internet explorer, and it comes with nice functionality, so it kind-of provides an intermediate option, more speed than that IE, with less options, but also slower than chrome with more options. google likes to keep things simple, and thats cool, but im not the kinda guy who likes idiot-proof things (that was a referance to apple, in case you didnt notice)

I find chrome quite slow on Windows 7, although this could be caused by the hack needed to get it to work in 7 x64.

z3 i just remembered...
you should try the lastest chrome betas....
they make them about 16 builds a day....
im using build 9117 and it flies (on x64 and from what i know from build 8010 [since i tried it] on supports x64 [no more hacks] and unlike most browsers it passes acid3 tests (9117 on does at least that i know of) not even the Googles chrome passes the test...
of course i use minefield too...(bugtesting...:p)

and thats what i love of firefox is that FOSS (since you can actually download and compile the firefox code...;)) also it allows the freedom of extensions...

firefox was to be customized as much as you could with addins (of course you use more RAM but really really useful [since i have DP and it is really helpful to only have to swipe my finger and then login automatically and noscript and adblock are make firefox that much safer as i see it they would block 99% of all malicious attacks that use javascript or any other plugins..:p]..)
now that is true safety...:geek:

and like i said try the latest chromium betas...
you'll find them on par with minefield...

When I get the time to I am going to start using the optimized builds again (tete009 makes one hell of a set of optimized builds that

simply
run
faster

Without having those necessarily be 64bit builds. I have ~60 add-ons installed, and a couple of them are really eating up some memory , an I just finished this profile over the weekend, so one or 2 might go - but optimized builds, and *especially* when I go 64bit permanently - will be the way to go. At least until I get my development machine going so that I can compile it myself - then I can compile my own optimized 64bit builds and be happy....

I tried Chrome once. Never again. I have used Opera, and it is kinda neat, but it really pisses me off that I cannot use the command line to force Opera to start from scratch using a different profile unless that profile is already made - it simply has not real structure to handle that , whereas with Fx, until I rebuilt this profile from scratch I had been using the same profile for over a year. And, since the profile is backed up in duplicate, and since it is one a separate drive, I can wipe out Fx, install it again, and be going in a matter of mere minutes with my *entire* old profile, including all passwords, sessions, certs, etc all already there.

Until someone can get me a browser that does *all* this and still beats out Fx in Acid3, speed, and increased functionality, I stay with Fx.

'Nuff said.
