I've been testing it and it's nice - has a few functions that chrome doesn't have out of the box - supposedly it has more privacy

Like stalker said, read their site on what they have different.

All the difference it is from the regular basic Chromium Browser it is based upon, is these couple of things: Product | ChromePlus

Just like some of the other ones here, like Comodo Dragon, Flock, Iron, Rockmelt, Google Chrome.

They're all just based off the open source Chromium browser with their own applied or removed tweaks and features.

If you want the original, get the Chromium Browser.

Flock is dead and Rockmelt is just a cheap imitation

Flock Browser

Iron and Chromeplus are good alternatives to Google Chrome

I haven't tried Comodo in some time

i've personally been using chromeplus as my default browser for many months now. i originally switched to it as i was worried about privacy issues with vanilla-chrome.

the main reasons i continue to use chromeplus are:

1 - superdrag - a small feature, but one i find incredibly useful - you can select a word or phrase with your mouse and drag it a bit to open up a google search on the selected text in a new tab.

2 - ietab - have a page or site that doesn't work properly in chromeplus? press the ietab button to open it using ie's trident rendering engine. you can then set it so that page always opens in ie-mode. it's not 100% perfect, but works a lot of the time.

3 - i've always been a little bit different!

downsides to using chromeplus are:

1 - source code is not open - have they put in any other hidden extras? the same can be said of most software...

2 - updates are a bit rarer and slower than standard chrome browser, but they do happen.

I have ChromePlus installed I'm still pondering to make it my regular day to day use browser, what has held me back FireFox 3.6 which I have completely setup the way I want it, the downfall to FF3.6 is I'm noticing a slight slow down at times but all my plug-ins continue to be updated on 3.6.

I'm waiting for FireFox 7.0 then I may make my decision, but not before a test and compatibility of all my plug-ins although there are probably a tiny few I could drop. :)
It will look more like chrome. Until then I will hang on FF 3.6 :)

My problem with FF may be seen as funny .. I do not like in FF that the URL box is small and not as big as chrome.. I like to work with that box , drag , see the URL clear ..

i don't use that many extensions, but so far i haven't run into any problems with the few that i do find useful. chrome bookmarklets work fine too. i don't believe that chromeplus differs from vanilla in the way it handles extensions, as far as i know.

1 - source code is not open - have they put in any other hidden extras? the same can be said of most software...

What's source code?

simply put: the source-code is basically the human-readable programming instructions that makes the software work. with open-source applications, programmers skilled at reading code can tell exactly what the software does, and can detect if it's doing anything 'sneaky'.

wikipedia source-code entry.

it has nothing to do with sending people back in time (or to parallel realities) to stop a train from blowing up, like in the recent entertaining movie. :)
