Classpnp.sys

I was wondering if someone running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit (RTM) would be willing to either zip or upload their Classpnp.sys file for me. Mine appears to be corrupt and I'd like to attempt to replace the one I have with a functioning one.

It's located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers

It would be greatly appreciated. I've searched Google high and low for hours and can't find a single place to get the file

Hmm...

So no one is willing to help with this? Maybe if I give more details someone might be willing to take the 30 seconds to zip/upload the file for me.

A few days ago I installed a couple of Windows Updates and also uploaded my video drivers to the latest ones that nVidia offers (196.21). The machine did not require a restart so I didn't bother with one. The machine started to act a little odd but seemed to work itself out.

Yesterday I went to open up the nVidia control panel and the system locked up. Naturally, I had to hard boot the machine. When the "Starting Windows" screen came up, it froze before the animation. Restarted again and tried safe mode, it got stuck on Classpnp.sys.

After hours of research last night, I finally pulled the graphics card out suspecting the nVidia drivers. Surprise! The machine booted up without an issue. I took that opportunity to restore to before the drivers update as well as the Windows updates. I shut the machine off and reinserted the card. Froze at Starting Windows again.

At this point I don't think the video card is bad but I do think the Classpnp.sys file is corrupt and I've read that swapping that file out with another can fix this issue.

So here we are. I would really appreciate it if someone could post a copy of their classpnp.sys file.

So I feel a bit foolish. I thought I had reset my BIOS settings to default last night, but apparently I had not. I did again a few moments ago just in case it hadn't work last night and viola. Machine booted up without so much as even a hiccup.

It would have been nice to try it with a new Classpnp.sys file but alas it's working now. I'd say thanks but...well
