I am doing a clean install on an Acer Veriton Z290G. I boot from the CD/DVD drive and it loads the files ok and then when I select install now I get a message :

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

I looked on Acers site at the drivers and don't see it. Or maybe I don't understand. Anyone know what I could do at this point to complete this install?

As message says, Windows installer needs a drive (normally a disk SATA drive). It's strange because Win 7 installer should have all drives for your Acer Veriton Z290G.
I suppose you are trying to install win 7, correct? Are you replacing the HDD? Witch bios version you have?
I've seen on a review that it comes with Win 7 Pro.
Normally, you have a default factory restore option in BIOS. It uses an image from a hidden partition to restore to factory default and it's a good option. As it formats your HDD, make a backup of all your files.

Its not that I need a drive, it's asking for me to install the driver for the CD/DVD drive. I did find that this can happen per Microsoft if the ISO was burned to fast to the DVD. Tried burning it at a lower speed but the burn stalled/stuck at 27%. I attempted the install several times with no luck prior to posting the original post. Just for giggles I attempted one more time and it is installing fine as I type this. I'll post back the results soon.

Sorry, you're wrong.
Your problem has nothing to do on how fast the disk was burned, as long as it did without errors.
The installation wizard uses Windows itself. This Windows also needs some minimal hardware drives, like USB and SATA controller to work and install Windows to the HDD or SSD. You didn't answered my questions, so I can't help you further.

Well that's OK. The install went fine on my last attempt. I don't put much into what I read on the Microsoft's forums. That's why I come here. I know this forum and have found it extremely helpful. It was 7 home prem. 64bit. New hard drive. Now doing updates. Thank you for your efforts.
