Clean install issue

I can't seem to find the path to do a format and reinstall 7. With the cd inserted it the only option is a custom install with no choice for format. Any help?

Choose custom install from boot up, do not run from within the operating system.

Follow the instructions for installation, one step will be choose the partition or hard drive you want to install, under advanced option you can delete/ format partition or full hard drive.

I can't get it boot from the cd, it just loads the current 7 OS. I have the dvd rom setup in the bios as 1st boot.

If you do the custom install, all of your current files will be moved to a folder called Windows.old... you can save what ever you want, then delete it... or you can download gparted to format your drive, then install Windows 7... Hope this helps...

You might want to try this, but as always when making changes to your OS or hard drive, always back up.
