A new friend offered to help me install Window7 64 bit on my Vista XPS Dell PC.
At one point I left the room for a few minutes. When I returned she told me Vista OS was still on the machine and that Windows 7 was installed. I was stunned...how could this be? After the install she replaced the RAM to 4GB purchased from Dell.
I cannot see any evidence of Vista, but perhaps it is there. I don't want to
put anything on the PC if there is a problem with the Win7 install.
If I go into computer>C drive>properties> it shows windows folder with 10.4 G.
It shows windows old with 14.7 G in that folder. The only programs I had
on this computer before the Windows 7 install was Microsoft Office and McAfee, and I was prepared to lose them in the clean install.
Should I delete windows old folder? Is there someway I can determine if Vista is on the PC? Or should I just start over?
Thanks,
Carol R
