Hi, I'm doing a clean install of Windows 7 64bit to replace the RC version and the installation hangs during reboots. (Step 10 of the tutorial; http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html?filter[2]=General%20Tips) I reformatted the drive, booted from a Windows OEM DVD, and it loaded perfectly through 100%. After rebooting, I get a black screen with a working mouse cursor. After a while, the PC times out and suspends itself.
When I try a hard reboot, I get a "Windows Was Not Shutdown Properly" message, and the option to boot in Safe Mode, or Normal Mode. Normal Mode booting results in the same black screen with mouse cursor. In safe mode, I get the proper 'Setup is preparing your computer..." message before the install process stops due to being in safe mode.
Kinda weird! Thanks for any help!
I have 4 sticks of RAM on board, I'll try installing with a few of them removed.
