Just out of curiosity, i have read several places now that if you do a clean reinstall with an ISO where you format the HD you might have to to a robocall to activate windows again. I was just wondering why robo-call is mentioned in particular, wont the automatic online activation work when you format the HD? If not, why not?

Thank you for your time.

Hello Anders,

It should be able to be activated online as usual. If not, then you should be able to do a phone activation.

Normally, you may have to do a phone activation if you made any hardware changes (ex: motherboard), installed on a different computer, or that key number has been activated often recently for whatever reason (ex: multiple reinstalls in a row).

Hope this helps some, :)
Shawn
