Did you look in Windows.old and see if there is a Window/system32/drivers folder? That's where I think drivers live.

Yeah, I think that's all you can do. I don't know what one you would need to establish an Internet connection---I think that would depend on your motherboard.

Maybe nothing.

Are you having any problems? Does all your hardware work? Do you show any yellow exclamation points or question marks in Device Manager?

Windows 7 does a pretty good job of supplying necessary drivers.

Unless u made an image of your previous install, you will have to reinstall every program/software with their setup files. Since u have not made any backup, the only option u have to redownload them from their respective sites and install.

And as posted above, go to device manager and see any yellow exclamation marks. If there are any, u need drivers for those devices only..

What do you want to do?

What do you mean by "the rest"?

Why did you buy the PC?

If you want to write a novel, you may have to install Word.

If you want to keep track of your budget, you may need to install Excel.

If you want to use the Internet, you should install anti-virus.

Etc.

Why did you buy the PC?

You're giving us nothing to go on.

Maybe you don't need any programs?

Unless you have issues, why think about more drivers? You got a pile of drivers when you installed Windows. Does all of your hardware work? Do you have any exclamation points in Device Manager?

You have 30 days to activate. It has no connection to drivers.

No, you don't need to download a bunch of stuff. Just go to Windows Update periodically to get critical and important updates. Make sure you have SP1.

Concentrate on configuration:

How much space is devote to System Restore?

How large is your page file?

Consider turning off hibernation if you don't use it.

Check Windows Disk Management to get a visual look at your partitions.

Get anti-virus going and make sure it is updating. Consider an anti-malware application such as Malwarebytes.

Run Windows Experience Index to get a general benchmark of your hardware.

Set Windows Update the way you want it--notify only, automatically install, whatever you want.

Check your defrag schedule.

Look in the BIOS a few times. Is all of your memory acknowledged? Are your fans spinning?

Download a program such as HWInfo32 so you can track temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds.

Take a look at the startup tab of msconfig and try to restrict the number of apps shown running at startup.

Run Disk Cleanup periodically.

Take a look at Task Manager and Resource Monitor to get an idea of your processes and RAM usage.

Etc, etc.

Then install your needed programs.

Ok cool. I just thought there would be some nesasary programmes for windows to get. So I just download the needed drivers and the few programmes I use and that's it? That seems to easy, I thought there would of been more to it. It's lovely to have a completely fresh and bear PC. There is usually so much stuff in the programmes and features thing in the CP.

Thank you
