Cleaning up my bookmarks

I have been participating in Windows 10 and as a result, have exported my bookmarks into a HTML format for easy transfer to the new browser etc.

When viewing the resulting data, there is an untold amount of tag along marketing. i.e. one travel company has "xx has the travel savings you're looking for. Our low prices on airfares, hotel rooms and car rentals make travel affordable." blah blah blah!.

My bookmarks/favorites is 638K and I am looking to reduce that amount. Is there an easy way to remove this or do I have to edit each entry and remove the "Blah" ?

When you were making any particular bookmark, I think you had a chance at that time to edit that title before you saved it. Or, are you not given that option? Any bookmarked long long title can only be edited to shorten one by one by one.

It is not only in the title but in the description as well i.e.

You must of exported cookies... and not just favorites ?
The default Favorites folder is wildly controversial to me anyway
Just a bunch of M$ crap really,
I usually delete all of the default folders/ Feeds.....
Then simply make 1 main folder called it Bookmarks and put all of my goodies in it,
it's basically what was Imported from Google toolbar way back when I used that utility.

The best thing about not using or getting rid of the default Favorites crap is if you ever reset ie your personal made Bookmarks folder is unaffected by the reset

Yes delete one at a time
I believe you can use Ctrl to select another item or shift click on another item and that select everything between the clicks.

I agree, I usually delete all the "suggested" folders/links first. But since I exported the bookmarks, and not intentionally the cookies, into an html format, it is not an easy edit. At the moment I only see pulling up the properties of each link and edit them from there. UGH! Using an HTML editor on all that data, there is a good chance of screwing the file up. I guess I should practice editing the future bookmarks before saving them.
