Solved Cloned HP_Recovery partition wont boot

Yes i done,,

1. Created unllocated partition to convert basic and restore Hp partitions . Brink tutorial helped me to do this.

2.Restored Hp_Recovery


Restarted system hitting F11 key to enter factory recovery but it attempts to fail showing "BOOT LOADER MISSING"

i messed up here//

Next try is again with EasyBCD method here we go

No, you did not mess up. This is just the way it is. I had the same problem

My system had Tools & Recovery the other way. It was
System
C:\
Recovery
Tools

I see you have SYSTEM set as active

Set HP Recovery as active and try again to re boot. Do not hit F11

Your system should be active. You may need to rebuild some of the boot files. Boot a system repair CD and run repair up to 3 times rebooting each time. Alternatively there is a command prompt fix sequence but try the first option as it is the easiest.

SYSTEM must be active in normal working system, YES. But if you want to get Hp_Recovery to boot directly you can do it by making HP_Recovery active.

Others on this forum and also on other forums have said that.

My understanding from the Ops last screenshot is that he has a fully restored system with boot problems. Making the recovery partition active will at best initiate a factory restore.
I personally prefer the command line process

others swear by running the repair option x3 from the system repair cd as a simpler alternative. Either way you want your system reserved partition to be active.

Yes, I believe faridahmed DOES want to run the full Factory Restore. Hence his pressing the F11 key.
He was cloning the C:\ back merely to have a bootable OS in order to run EasyBCD.... to add the HP Recovery to the OS choices boot menu.

I was the 'original' OP for this thread. it has now moved on to helping Farid with what appears to be same problem I had. Which was not being able to get the HP_ Recovery to start up

Yes, he wants Factory Restore if I am understanding correctly, but I am guessing from location and use of English that this is not his language.

I tested F11 bootup also it works me fine..Over all scenario what i understand for this kind of error

1. Basic disc -necessary
2. Should not exceed more then 4 partetion of entire disk
3.Boot Loader

here is a snip i figured something new changes as i lost my HP_TOOLS,,

To solve this problem you have to adjust the BCD file (bootmenu) in HP_RECOVERY partition. Your HP_RECOVERY partition is now called E. Please do this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html

bcdedit  /store   E:\boot\bcd  /enum  all

and post output

I am the same as you with this..I am new to Win 7 restoration too...I only thought I might be able to help as I had, only days before, finished doing exactly what you had done.

Your english is not bad!! far from it it is good, but it is noticeable that you are not an native english speaker, so that is always possible cause for confusion. I know this, I see it all the time here at home with my girlfriend she is Indian, and she is now 50 years old and has been in England since she was sent here to be married when she was 17. And she still has trouble and makes mistakes..she was taught English in India...her brother was an English Literature professor at a University near Agra, and she still has difficulty some time. So no criticism meant in any way, just saying that I could understand if there was issues with us not getting our meanings across.

I won't even attempt Hindi writing, and can only manage a couple of spoken words ..

Did you already clone to new drive?
Post screenshot of disk management please.

Most of the time marking the RECOVERY partition active forces pc to boot from that partition. So mark it active and test. After testing mark original partition ACTIVE again.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/71432-partition-mark-active.html . You have to use METHOD 2 because win7 doesn't boot after setting RECOVERY partition ACTIVE!!!!
