CMD - DOS command for obtaining system errors

Hi Everybody,
I am from Pakistan and i have been working in Tech support since 3 years but today i came across a question from a interviewer that " what is the syntax or command to run diagnostic test or to obtain the errors details of a PC/Laptop from DOS/CMD.

Please let me know ASAP.

What kind of errors are you looking for? What tools have at your disposal? And most important, why must it be though command line? Certainly a handy tool to have, but if you know better options don't be affraid to use them.
Without any specific symptoms or even a vague idea of what are you tracing that's just a useless question, there is no way to give a reasonable answer, one normally looks at the problem then begins some evaluation of the situation, not just running some canned commands and hope they diagnose or fix everything.

Errors such as registry , cause of crash like even viewer, autoexe viruses and lots of other errors which results in slow down of the system or taking long time to copy a folder of 1 mb to another folder or drive.
If there is no such command , could you please suggest some other windows builtin tool to find those errors and kind of errors i have missed

One thing more my interviewer told me that there is a command line syntax which is use to diagnose the errors found in the system.
Its like once we entered that command it start analysing the system (start scanning )and gives bundle of details about the system errors currently present in the workstation.

I personally have never heard of a command that check everything in a system.

Such a command sure could be very handy.

I’d be interested in knowing what command line this Interviewer of yours knows, Nouman. Before reading Ztruker’s post, I didn’t know vanilla Windows even had a diagnostic tool accessible through the GUI. One existing for the command line would not be likely—it wouldn’t make any sense—given the absence of Click as an input method, the diagnostic tool'd be very limited in functionality. Simply not worth it to use or even make in the first place.
