I am trying to get windows seven back onto a laptop of mine that i had put ubuntu on and it says that i cannot put windows on partition 1 of the c: drive but it says that windows is unable to install on that partition because windows does not recognize the specified partition. I know there is a way to format the specified partitions on the hard drive through the command prompt but i don't know the exact command to use.
Thanks in advance

Without using the CMD Repair, you can delete all partitions and Format and partition as you like from the windows set up.
where you would choose the partition to install windows, I beleive you have to select advanced options, and there be "hyperlinks" for delete, format, new, etc.
If you'd like I can make a video for you.

This should be sufficient in most cases. If not work through the others in Overcoming Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums which resolve most installation failures.
