Solved CML8GX3M2A1600C9W how to set them working at 1600

This is the reason I started searching for a new mobo and processor.
It doesn't make sense to me either.

The Cpu should still be fine it is the motherboard that has you locked

Try replacing it with a different brand

Is there a chance that the memory controller has a problem? I think it is built in the CPU.
I was thinking of buying a mobo and a processor just to be safe.
It makes me mad not to able to determine the problem.

I kinda wish my motherboard would fail also, ever since I saw the Asus Sabertooth motherboard my mind melted a bit, mainly because of the "dust armor" and that it uses the same colors that my lovely noctua fans have, and I have read a lot on this forum about just gigabyte motherboards and how their support kinda sucks, I cant say much more then that since I have used Asus since the begining and for me they work flawless

I don't think it would be the CPU in general unless it got dmaged somehow

Intel test these chips before shipping out if it was a bad controler on the chip would be rare but nothing to turn your back on

explore all options but most likly your board is holding you back and the ram you are using isnt functioning well which means could be bad ram or just bad slots on the MB

Also if your mixing different sets or types of vengenace ram it could be a issue there too

I only use matched kits now and the problem persists.
I use separately three matched ram kits and the only combination that works is with the kit from the original build.
I still think that the behavior of my mobo is strange.
And I still consider it as a risk to find and buy a mobo for this processor. They are old and hard to find and if it doesn't work I will have spent even more money on a machine that doesn't work.

just my 2 cents. i maybe wrong but it could be down to the version numbers. u said u have 2 kits of the same memory but with different version numbers.
i had similar issue's when i bought a second kit of corsair xms3's. one had a different version number and they just would'nt play ball. i didnt get the bsod's but i could'nt get the full 16gb usable.

After two months of testing with three different ram kits I reached the conclusion that my motherboard can run only with 4. GB of RAM and only with the original set that I bought it with. Due to financial problems I cannot upgrade at the moment. Any ideas on my problem? Is there any settings that I have to mess with in order to play ball?

I think I finally found the problem.
I set DRAM to 1.5v and qpi/vtt to 1.34v and all looks good up to now.
I had to fine tune the motherboard because it was an older model than the vengeance ram.
Thank you all.
