Solved How to set memory speed and timings

I installed DDR3 1866 but the memory is running at 1600. My question is how to change the speed to 1866. I changed the multiplier from 8 to 9.33 leaving "Auto" for the timings but that resulted in no boot. The memory is Patriot PV38G186C9KRD. The spec is DDR3 1866 with 9-10-9-27. FX-6300 is running on GA-970A-UD3.

This is what is shown on CPU-Z and this is the BIOS screen for the memory speed and timings. There are more than 9-10-9-27 to be set.

First thing that comes to mind is maybe voltage droop. I would make sure your voltage is 1.5 volt in the bios and if yes then boost it just a little to like 1.55-1.60v. See if that boots then test it hard if you blue screen go back to original setting and let us know.

Reason why I decided to ask that question as pospted is that there were more timing parameters than what I know about. I went ahead and changed the parameters which I knew or 9-10-9-27 and mult factor of 9.33 for 1866 and left defaults as were for those I do not know about. The result was that the system booted fine. The default parameters appears to have been automatically changed. Now CPU-Z shows this.

What is "set memory clock". Is it the base clock(may not be the correct term)? It is 200MHz for my motherboard. I think it is also adjustable but then that would affect cpu core frequency.

Oh, that. What you're referring to sounds the good ol' FSB (Front Side Bus), which is the 200MHz clock you're speaking of. Don't mess with that until you've gotten your head around how it works.

But yeah judging by your recent screenie, you're good to go as already said. Apologies for the confusion.
