Ok guys so i recently purchased COD 4 modern warfare. It installed perfectly but the real problem began when i started playing the game.Game playing was normal at first then it became painfully slow, even moving around the corners is like in slow motion.I tired to lower down the graphic settings, changed resolution and tried running in windows vista sp2 comparability mode.

I have windows 7 and intel HD graphics card with 1 GB graphic memory, pixel shade 5 and so on.

I read somewhere anti virus real time protection may affect game play so i turned off anti virus just to experiment but still its the same

Any help will be appreciated

Intel HD graphics are meant for general use, they are NOT designed for heavy gaming. Your laptop has not been designed for gaming either
Lower the graphic resolutions

Antivirus software won't affect anything

i never thought COD4 which was released way back in 2007 comes under heavy gaming category.I can easily run and play NFS carbon and MOH pacific assault which were released around same time as COD4...

yeah thats what dell told me when i contacted their customer care.Unfortunately at the time of buying my laptop i opted for intel HD and that was a mistake on my part.

Anyways tried COD4 in 800x600 resolution, shadows off and power settings on high performance i am getting a decent game play

you can try to defrag the COD 4 folder, just download the defragger online, install and then run the program find the folder where it is installed select it then defrag it.When i did this to my recent games like gta eflc, skyrim, MW3 and NFS the run it improved the gameplay.

What's your ping for the servers you are trying to connect to? The higher the ping, the more lag you will experience.

Wow never thought this thread would be resurrected.:D

Well it has been long since time since i purchased COD4 and finished it;)

Upgrading my RAM solved the lag problem for those of who are facing the similiar problem. If anyone has stock Intel HD graphics and want to run/play newer games,my suggestion is to upgrade RAM to atleast 6 GB or more.

Then see the wonders it does and enjoy:p
