Code 800736B3

Hello all, I am posting for my father-in-law who is having difficulty with these windows updates.

The error code is 800736B3.

I downloaded and ran SURT a few times, each time it reported success however the error is still active and there are 10 updates pending on windows update.

i also scanned several times sfc /scannow and nothing exciting came up.

I think we'll start with a sub-nuclear option

Please follow the instruction in this tutorial - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html - Option 3 is the one you need.

Thanks again for your help. I did step 3, everything looked good. I restarted the computer, ran windows update, the updater downloaded the updates and the install failed again. I have the same error again. Would you like me to repost the initial information? or is the nuclear options a better way to go?

Before we go nuclear, I'd better have a look at the new logs - the CBS.log and windowsupdate.log please.
