I have repeatedly tried to install this latest security update for SQL server. I have not found documentation on the failure code. 84B20001. How to procede?

After various tests, I could not resolve the error. I was running multiple instances of SQL server "repaired" each per the article. I started down the path of removing instances until I was only running one. The update error continued until I complete removed SQL server; hence it was no longer needed and the update removed itself from my installation queue. I will re-install SQL at some point and see if the update is later compatible.
