Combine 2 Windows Easy Transfers (from XP and RC)

Here is my scenario when the time comes: I have dual boot and "stuff" in both a XP boot and Win7 RC boot. I would like to preserve both, can I run The Easy Transfer Wizard on both installations and convert them to one after I install my retail copy of 7? It doesn't sound like possible (I am counting on having to simply backup one of them and transfer manually)

Also, to add insult to injury I intend to replace the motherboard in the middle of the process. Does anybody know if ETW will gag if it finds another motherboard for "this is my new computer". I think it is designed to transfer things from one computer to another so it shouldn't happen. But you never know...

Anyway, your opinion is appreciated. I am getting goose bumps as the time approaches...

It's a good question. I personally have not used the ETW very much, besides just experimenting a couple of times. So I don't know if you can preserve the two backups somehow, perhaps just by restoring the newest one last.

I don't think you will have any issues being that you replaced the motherboard. Afaik the stuff that ETW is meant to restore is not really related to the hardware, but rather user account settings/documents and things like that.

ETW makes a copy of the users personal files, folders and settings. As such it transfers no hardware related stuff.

Restoring these files to an new computer adds and / or replaces files but doesn't remove them. You can use ETW to restore files from several old computers or setups to a new computer or setup.
