Hello, All!

I first had XP installed on my PC and then I installed Windows 7 too, means I had two Windows running on one PC. First when I started my PC then on starting, two options came which were: Select OS: 1) Older Version Of Windows (XP) 2) Windows 7 Ultimate. So I could select required Windows for me.

But now my Windows XP got errors, so I re-installed XP and it is running properly. But now when I start PC then it itself own starts Windows XP but it's not giving select OS option. So I'm unable to start Windows 7 but It's running well on drive ( D: ). Means No file has deleted of Windows 7. Now I want that when I start PC then Select OS option again must come, so what can I do for enabling OS menu?

Regards,

You can try running a startup repair from the win 7 installation disc or you can manually edit the boot files to setup your dual boot again using a program like bcdedit

Install EasyBCD 2.0 beta after doing quick registration to use beta.

You'll also need to install Net Framework 2.0 to run EasyBCD in XP,

Add Win7 on Add/Remove tab by name, type and correct drive letter.

EasyBCD isn't working on Windows XP.

But how can I change the boot.ini file in Windows XP to access Windows 7 on boot screen too. I mean What command should I have to add in Windows XP's boot.ini file to access both XP and 7 on Boot screen. File photo of boot.ini of XP is uploaded to to this thread.

Are these on separate HD's? The reason I ask is that you say Win7 is still running ok even though reinstalling XP removed it from Dual Boot. Are you accessing it via BIOS shortcut key, or BIOS boot order, at Start up?

If so, this is actually a better way of dual booting as the drives remain independent when booted via BIOS.

If you have only one HD here, then please post back a screenshot of the EasyBCD listings. Have you tried adding Win7 on the Add/Remove tab?

If you can boot Win7, use EasyBCD 2.0 from there to Add XP.
