Solved combing 3 hard drives need help!

how can i expand the boot partition to the outer drives to make 1 volume with all the space on it from adding the drives. performance doz not matter. mother bored only supports raid - 1. and software raid - 5 i lose a lot of Gb's of space can some one help?

I'm still not sure what you want to do. Are you asking if you can span a partition across those three drives to make one large, single drive?

JBOD or RAID-0 software and how can it be used to extend my system partition to use the unallocated space on the other drives? because mother board doz not support raid, only raid-1 Mirroring witch i wont get the storage i need. how do i set it up in Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit?

If this Dell mobo is only setup for RAID 1 or 5, thats all it can do! Yes, with RAID 5 (striping with parity) you will effectivly lose 33% of the total space. May I ask, what is your reason for wanting to do this in the first place?

Also, please in future posts use punctuation, uppercase letters, and try using spell check as I see you are located in the USA, and without these things makes it harder to follow your posts!

I wouldn't recommend doing so, unless you had a RAID controller.

It is called a "spanned" volume but can NOT be done to a boot or system partition. Open disk management and under help read the section on Spanned Volume.

after installing and setting up windows with all my software that i use on the hard drive and starting to work for about 1 week i have to reinstall every thing reason no space on the hard drive. raid-1 is only supported, that is why im looking for software alternatives to help with space issue. i have drive but i don't know how to expand the system partition/volume over to them.

Instead of installing everything to C:\, you have two other hard drives that you can install and store too without having to use RAID or anything else. You have to first initialize and format the other two drives to use them, but once that is done it is just a simple matter of changing the driver letter the program is to be installed to.

Sounds like a drastic solution to me! Rather than start over, why dont you uninstall all large apps and install them to one of your other 2 hdds? Also, if you have lots of docs, pics, and movies consider moving your user folder to another hdd. Its what everyone with an SSD does.
