COMCTL32.OCX missing

Same problem as Mr.Karu :(

Putting the .OCX file into WOW64 didn't work either.

My Computer

OS

I did succeeded following these instruction:
Found COMCTL32.OCX from internet. (nowhere to be found on my PC)
Put it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
Located CMD.EXE in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
Run CMD.EXE as Administrator.
Executed this command:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx

Worked on first try.

Thank you all on the tips!!!

I got the COMCTL32.OCX file from a google search...

COMCTL32.OCX download - free ocx files

It worked correctly using the
"regsvr32 \windows\SysWOW64\COMCTL32.OCX"
command in the Run program.

Downloading the file and changing it's extension didn't work!

I used the OCX from A GUY post .ZIP file, first page on this thread.
Don't forget to rename the file as mentionned later in the post.
Follow instructions according to your version of Windows (64 bits ?).
It worked for me!

P.S. I never download files from unknown sources...

Found an old program & it gave me the unregistered OCX file message, so here I am on this old thread! Here's what I did to make things run right, mostly thanks to all of your responses above!

Found COMCTL32.OCX already on my PC in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory
Located CMD.EXE in C:\Windows\SysWOW64
Ran CMD.EXE as Administrator
Executed this command:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx

Had to repeat the above procedure with comdlg32.ocx.

After I did those steps, the old program ran fine! Thanks again!

(PS - I'm on Windows 10 Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.)
