Solved Command Prompt in Explorer Toolbar?

I would like to have the command prompt option in the explorer toolbar (1st choice/context menu 2nd choice) and when cliked on it opens with the location of where I am in the explorer window. For example, I navigate to and view the contents of the folder named Schematics and in the toolbar (or context menu) I would clik command prompt and the window would open thus :

An elevated prompt is a command prompt window that allows commands that require administrative privileges.

With an http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html you would see C:\System32\Users\MourningStar\etc.. at the prompt.

Instead of C:\Users\MourningStar\etc.. that you now see at the non-elevated http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/947-command-prompt.html in your screenshot.

Thank you Anak - I seem to recall a tutorial for adding stuff to the toolbar and I think/hope it was on this site because I remember going thru steps to put a 'Delete' up there. I will search this site for putting the command prompt in the toolbar. I really must begin a log of these tweaks I make and annotate where I found them.

I looked through that tutorial, and couldn't find anything about a CMD prompt. Do you think using Windows.CMD as the value data would work or would you need to find the CLSID and use that?

No, its not that. Here at 7Forums we try to find an elegant solution to problems that anyone from a noobie to an IT tech would find easy to follow.

Its just that I couldn't find any commands to apply the CMD prompt to the toolbar, like you want. It does look do-able. Have you tried yet?

It would be best if you went to the link Bongo posted, and ask Brink what is needed to allow your CMD button to show.

You might also consider using the free program Classic Shell to see if you may be able to add a command prompt button on a toolbar in Windows Explorer.

I posted in your Custom Explorer Toolbar tutorial regarding this issue. Regarding the Classic Shell. Hmmm, ... will it interface with Mark's awesome themes that I am using?

I would recommend to create a restore point before trying Classic Shell. If it causes an issue, you could do a system restore back to that restore point.

Creating a restore point before installing and using Classic Shell will allow you to be able to go back to exactly how everything was at that restore point before installing it if it does mess things up where simply uninstalling Classic Shell normally doesn't help.
