Anytime I run cmd as administrator it now says C:\Windows> NOT C:\Windows\System32 (which is what I want)

I have no idea how to make it run in system 32 folder by default. (not cd system32 (ain nobody got time for that))

Thanks

~Matt

First try creating a new admin account and see if that shows System32 then if no good try running sfc /scannow. You might have to go through Safe Mode though!

after following Mitchell65's suggestion

check your environment settings while in the Command Prompt
set

look at
ComSpec=C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
and
Path=
C:\WINDOWS\system32;
C:\WINDOWS;
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Shared

also see where cmd.exe is located
- sb :c:\windows\system32

dir /a /s c:\cmd.exe
if it's anywhere else - let members reading your thread know that.

Find the current location of "cmd.exe" as follows;

Start Button>Control Panel>System>Advanced system settings>Advanced (tab)>Environment Variables (bottom right of the screen)>System variables (where is ComSpec located)? You can modify the location if it is different than;
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
