Compaq laptop won't start

Hi All, I have a prob with my laptop, when i press the start button the lights on the keyboard etc come on but the screen doesn't? i could try 20 to 30 time keep turning on and off then eventually it works and i have lift off!!! Ive tried malwarebytes scan, system restore, disc clean, disconnect battery to drain all power etc don't know what to do next any ideas???

Work through these Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot.

Booting the disks required to disinfect and repair Win7 (provided in blue link) will tell you if the monitor or other hardware has problems or the issue is truly the OS failure to boot.

If there is interference with the steps then return to the hardware tests referenced in beginning note.

Post back results of each step as there may be others based on that.

Can not believe this, the problem has not occurred since in put the post on???! think i will wait and see what happens

Yeah sometimes our laptops are scumbags.
