I have Win 7 Professional x64 SP1.
Because of serious Windows update problems it has been suggested that I need to do a repair install of Win 7. I have a Dell OEM version of the OS but, fortunately, I managed to download a Win 7 ISO last year from Digital River before MS stopped these downloads.
Using the repair install tutorial on this forum I started following the instructions. All went well until I reached the compatibility stage. Two problems were listed. The first required uninstalling the ATI Catalyst Control Center which I did successfully. The second problem was that I needed to update the device driver for USB: USB Virtualizaion Stub Driver. In the MS Device Manager I found USB Virtualization>USB Virtualization Connector Driver listed. When I attempted to update this I was told that I had the latest version installed.
At this stage the upgrade would not allow me to proceed any further. I am now at a loss as what to do.
