Compatibility mode networking problems

I think this started when I did a windows update but that was a long time ago and can not be undone but what my problem is that when ever I put a program in any compatibility mode, xp, vista, 2000.... anything, that program can not use my internet connection. So like if I put Internet Explorer or Firefox in Windows XP compatibility mode then it can not connect to the internet even when its running in administrator mode.

I think this is a known problem with compatability mode.

I'll keep looking for a solution for you but I wouldn't hold my breath.
