Hello,

does anybody know about compatibility probelems with Adobe Dreamweaver CS4. I made an update from Vista to Win 7.
Since then I can't change images in Dreamweaver the usual way, i.e. by using a Windows browser and double click on the new icon. I have to type the new name into the code. That's tedious!

Thanks for information.

Did you find an answer to this question. I'm having the same issue

Unfortunately no. The only way to get around typing in the name is to click on another image in the same folder first and then double click on the new image.
That's at least better than typing. I have no idea whether the Adobe guys fixed this bug in CS 5. We'll see.

I, too have been experiencing this same problem with CS4 running on Windows 7. In my case, I was trying to update a link to a PDF document.

I'm glad to know about the technique in which you browse for the file you want to link to, then first select another file, and finally double-click the one you really want. That does work for me, too.

I have just begun researching this problem, so I don't know if Adobe has anything on it. By now, both CS4 and Win7 have been out a while, so you'd think they would. IMHO, we shouldn't have to upgrade to CS5 in order for this to work.

It has something to do with your user preference settings. We are on a network and the IT guy deleted my user settings and then added me again. And it seems to work.

Interesting, thanks. I'll have to look into this.

The bug is gone in CS 5.

This is usual Adobe policy: Sell expensive and buggy and fix the bugs in the next even more expensive generation.

Glad to hear the bug is gone in CS5, but they really should fix it in CS4, as well. Also found another problem, with the Preview in Browser function. The F12 and Control + F12 keyboard shortcuts don't work. You have to choose the function from the File menu. I'm using Internet Explorer as my primary browser and Firefox as my secondary, but I'm guess that has nothing to do with it.

I have CS4 and the F12 and Cntrl F12 work for me.

Yeah, sorry, my mistake; I spoke too soon. The Ctl + F12 shortcut is working to launch my secondary browser. Not sure why it wasn't the other day, but now it is. However, F12 still won't launch my primary browser. However, I discovered that F11 will do so. Go figure. I must have some sort of shortcut conflict with another program or with Windows itself when it comes to F12.

another peculiarity

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but my copy and paste functionality has gone away in CS4 running Windows 7. I think I had the functionality a few days ago but it definitely wasn't there on Friday and hasn't come back after rebooting several times. I know this sounds crazy because you don't lose functionality like this all of a sudden. It's not likely a bug but I have no idea what it could be.

I went back to my XP-Pro machine, cranked up CS4, pulled in the file(s) I was having problems with in W7 and everything worked fine in XP-Pro. In other words, when I copied a segment from a script and pasted it somewhere else in the script, it worked fine.

Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem?
