Hello;
I have a custom built desk top utilizing an ASUS P6X58D premium mobo powered by an i7 938 processor with Intel X58 chipset built April 2011 running Windows7 Home Premium. Have not had any problems with the system until I changed the processor. I swapped the i7 937 for an i7 975. It is a new processor. Before switching processors I upgraded the BIOS to the latest revision. I checked the system thoroughly to make sure everything was operating normally before I exchanged processors. Now when I boot up with the i7 975 processor the system will start the pre-boot post, then automatically reset and will restart the pre-boot post. It may do this 2 or 3 times then will start normally. After boot up everything appears to be running normal without any problems. I am not a gamer nor do I even have the games packaged with Windows 7 installed on my computer nor am I overclocking the processor. I have not changed any BIOS settings as the new processor is recognized by the BIOS.
Any suggestions to remedy this problem will be greatly appreciated.
