I have a digital SLR camera, the Sony A200 and when I connect it to the computer running Windows 7 premium I get no response from the computer.
The camera should automatically appear on screen with prompts to import pictures or view them.
Can anyone help with this.
Thanks
I know this is stupid but the camera has to be turned on and some cameras require you explicitly connect them to the PC by selecting an option in the camera's menu somewhere. Check your manual or look up the manual on google by entering your camera's brand and model.
I tried the camera wizard and it does not see the camera.
I tried to connect the camera on a separate laptop and it did not see the camera either, this would suggest a camera error.
I checked the camera settings and they are correct for USB connection
I contacted SONY fopr support but no joy as yet.
If all you are wanting to do is to download pictures that you have taken onto your computer, can I suggest that you bypass connecting the camera to your computer and instead plug the memory card/stick directly into the card reader if you have one.

I had the same problem with a camera that usually connected. I disconnected the little USB hub I was using and plugged the USB cable directly to the USB port. It then worked.
