So im at point I think a clean install is only chance I have. My computer keeps hanging when I try to update. It installs update restarts fails to log in. Safe mode won't work nothing I end up restoring to previous verision then it works..

Why would windows update cause compter to fail could this be a mainboard issue if so how do I end up geting it to work once I restore? only other issue I could think of is I try to install adware.

If you see the shield on the shutdown button, go here: Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Update, click on 'available updates', and deselect all updates that you do not want. You can also right click on the updates and "hide" them. Then they do not bother you any more and do not get installed.

It would help the experts if they had more details from you, don't forget they can't see your machine and don't know what you are using so more details would help them give you better answers.

What version of Windows is it and on what hardware, laptop or desktop. How old is the machine and what security software do you run, please post back with more details and I'm sure that you will get the help you need.;)
