Computer Files Not Showing Up

Hello all,

My parents are having a tough time with their dell latitude d630 lately because they cannot see their pc files when they open the explorer window, and i cannot either.

I have a picture of the issue and the operating system is windows 7. Are there any free solutions I can do because my parents do not like buying things for the laptop unless it dies in front of them, but I'm trying to prevent that from happening.

What's under "Libraries" ??

Hello,

all of the shortcuts for music, videos, etc are under libraries. It takes a bit for them to show up but when they do, I click on a shortcut and it takes me to the desired location, but it just takes forever to load as well as how nothing is highlited when I click.

I just felt the bottom of the laptop and it is VERY hot. The fan seems to not be pushing out any air, is this the issue?

Yeah right, that laptop is definitely too hot. You have to investigate the cause. Open it up on the back.

Okay, I sprayed the fan with my last can of compressed air and it is pushing out much more air now. However, I'm still getting the problem of it loading very poorly. I've done tune ups on this pc but have never seen it this bad.

It could be your "tune-ups" that mess the system up. Those programs are never any good.

Also, over on the right, the 2nd icon, between the view icon and the question mark icon, click it and that 3rd pane - select a file to preview will disappear. They probably don't need that pane.

I've been using those same programs for over a year now and they are all legit and free.

Okay, now it seems that preview is fixed but when I minimize and maximize a windows, this happens. Also, it still takes several seconds to load including when i click a folder it doesn't highlight.

I've never seen an issue like this before..

here's another problem, i'm trying to access the homegroup because this is the host computer and there is no way it's loading.
