I'm stuck on this one. Everytime I try to hibernate or even shutdown my computer it gets to the blank screen and then just hangs. I'm forced to shutdown by the power button which I don't like to do. When I put my computer to sleep and wake it I get the Blue Screen of Death and it says "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION". I've tried disabling and re enabling hibernation to no avail. I'm wondering if my video drivers could be the culprit. Please assist. I'm running an eMachines E525 laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Yes of course. But that means I'll have to invoke the BSOD. I'll edit this post when I have done so.

(Update)

Putting my computer to sleep/standby or hibernate causes the screen to go blank and that's it. The hard disk responds for a while and then everything hangs. Nothing but force rebooting does anything. I can't even get the BSOD to invoke anymore so forget the BSOD part as it no longer has any relevance because I can't even get my comp to sleep. I use hibernate for convenience and sleep for the same purpose. I dislike force rebooting. I suspect my display drivers are the culprit. The Intel Mobile Chipset 4 Family. I have my system specs on my profile below.
