Computer freezes randomly.

Hi,

lately I have been having problems with my laptop. It freezes randomly. Most of the time it's when I want to shut down the computer it just says "shutting down" but it doesn't till i hold the power button. And when starting up it's stuck once in a while and every time i try to disconnect my wireless internet it just gets stuck and ctrl + alt + del doesn't work at all.
Any ideas how to solve this. (Please explain it in easy step as I'm not that good with computers!)

Hi,

Kindly follow the below mentioned steps which could fix the freezing issue:

Run a test on the Hard Drive to confirm functionality. If you get any error code, make a note of the error code.

Check the performance in “Safe mode with Networking”. Check if the antivirus software has detected any virus/ malware/ spyware, if yes proceed with the Antivirus/Spyware/Malware troubleshooting.
Limit how many programs run at startup by using “Autoruns”: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

Try running the below mentioned troubleshooters which could fix the problem:

Hi thanks for replying,

I have tried to run in Safe mode with networking and it froze when I typed the password, so i had to shut it down. When I tried to run it in Safe Mode it went on perfectly fine and it didn't freeze at all.
Antivirus etc didn't find anything at all just like the troubleshooters you suggested.
Malware did find some infected items like a week ago (52 infected) and I got rid of them.
Maybe it has something to do with the internet driver(?) because last night the router disconnected and the laptop froze!

Sorry for late reply.
As your system is able to boot in safe mode, then I would suggest you to restore your system back to a date when it was working fine. System Restore will affect Windows system files, programs, and registry settings only.
