Hello, I have had a Dell XPS Desktop for the last 11 months running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit Operating Software. About 5 days ago, my computer started freezing after being up for between 30 to 60 minutes. I have run the Pre Boot System Analyzer suggested by Dell, and all of the hardware components passed the different tests. I have run defrag, disk cleaner, malware, and full scan antivirus software, and yet the computer still freezes. Each time it freezes, I have to push the power button to perform a hard shutdown. I have attached the results from the SF Diagnostic Tool. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thank you!!

Message - Sorry, No Dump Found

Koolkat77 - thank you for your reply, but I did run the SF Diagnostic Tool using the instructions provided as a System Administrator. However, the tool returned the warning "Sorry, No Dump Found." See the attached screenshot and let me know if I am doing something wrong. Thank you for your help!

Click on Computer, Click on System...
Go to Advance System Setting on the left pane...
Under Performance .. click on setting ...
Go to Advanced Tab and then under virtual memory click change
check "Automatically Manage paging file size for all drives"..... click Ok and ok
and if asked to restart do so....

Now you should be able to create a minidump: By Centaur78

Automatically Manage Paging File Size

Koolkat77 - Thank you... But my computer settings were already set to "Automatically Manage paging file size for all drives". See the attached screenshot. I went ahead and manually changed the page size to 12GB, and then ran the SF Diagnostic Tool, but with the same result. So, I changed it back to the "Automatically Manage" setting. Any other thing to try?

Installed a Complete Memory Dump File

Ok, I have downloaded and run the "Windows Create a Complete memory dump File on BSOD" Step #4 of Option #2. As soon as the system crashes again (probably within the hour), I will run the SF Diagnostic Tool to see if I get a dump file and upload it. Thank you!

Still Not Getting a Memory Dump

I loaded and ran the memory dump file per the instructions on the forum here, and my computer crashed again... However, when I just ran the SF Diagnostic Tool, I still did not have a memory dump file. See the attached screen shot. Anything else that I can do?

Problem Solved with Crucial M4 64GB Firmware Update

koolkat77 - thank you for all of your help. Fortunately, I finally figured out the problem causing my computer to freeze. I am running the operating system on a Crucial M4 64GB solid state drive, and I discovered that the firmware version (0009) that came with the drive at purchase had a bug in it. After the drive reaches 5,180 hours of use, it starts freezing after 60 minutes of use. I contacted Crucial tech support (which was extremely helpful), and within 15 minutes I had upgraded the firmware to version 000F. This completely fixed the freezing issue on my computer. Again, thank you for your help!!!!!
