Computer freezes when downloading large files

Hi, all. Wondering if anyone can help with this. When downloading large files, either via uTorrent, Steam, or other services, at random times my computer will freeze, requiring a hard restart. No BSOD or anything, just a freeze. It doesn't happen every single time I download large files, but it does happen often enough. I suspect that it may be a problem with the wireless network card, but I'm not exactly sure, and wanted to get some insight before I replaced anything. It's been happening since I built the machine, but I narrowed it down to downloading large files just recently. I ran the diagnostic tool, and I am attaching the zip, though there is no minidump, of course. Thank you in advance.

If it helps, in the event log, event 17429 is when I reset the computer tonight.

Hi, first let me say I'm not a network guy.
Is it possible for you to connect via an Ethernet cable to your router? This would at least eliminate the wireless card if the freezing stops.

For others to help you, open a command window (type cmd in start, hit Enter) enter this command:
Code:
ipconfig /all

When it finishes highlight all the text, this copies it, paste into Notepad and upload the file.

This is the preferred, best way to upload an image or a file to a post.

Press the ALT and PrntScrn keys at the same time, this will capture only the active window to use in Paint or your preferred graphics editor.

You may also upload a photo or image you already have on your PC,as you would a file, without using the Snipping tool.

No, I haven't tried that. Unfortunately, my layout is such that I would have to rearrange everything in order to do so. My modem/router is in the back office, and the PC with the problem is a living room media PC.

So, does anyone else have any thoughts on this? I saw a trick some people said worked where you switch the SATA ports on your OS drive and your data drive (I have a SSD for my boot drive and a HDD for my data drive), so I'm trying that to see if it works. I'm also going to try and copy a few large files to my data drive offline and see if that causes a freeze.

Well, I know this is an old problem, but I wanted input. Since I posted this, I switched the drivers for the wireless card from the ones on the ASUS site to the drivers for the card's chipset. Everything has been working fine, up until a month ago when the same old problem started happening again! Does anyone have any idea why that could be?

What helped me

I built a new PC myself and had this problem. This is one of my 1st post ever but, it was so hard to find out what was going on I thought I would post what I did and found. on my new PC mobo ( an asus) there are 2 colored SATA ports, one is SATA3 and SATA6 (I have a SSD and A 1TB HDD) for some reason when I had the drives in the SATA3 ports this would happen so i put both my hard drives on SATA6 and presto problem gone. I do not know what the problem was but it did fix my problem. HOPE THIS HELPS :)
